1. Manado, North Sulawesi
Manado has become one of the top destinantion for best food Indonesia in the past and now Manado still hold the status. The Minahasan Land provides so many delicious food that you can try, most of them is spicy. If you had try Thai food then you should try Manadonese food because their food is little similar with Thai food but with many variant.
In Manado city, you can try many various foods, all the food is cooked with Rica-Rica style. What is Rica-Rica style? well Rica-Rica means cooking style with chilli as the main material, so its gonna be very spicy, you should prepare your tongue to try Manadonese food.

There is a lot food in Manado you can try, but the best are Chicken Rica-Rica, Roa Fish Rica-rica and other Rica-Rica. The best desert is probably Klaapertart, This coconut pudding is enriched with strips of young coconut and bits of raisin. If you are lucky, the nightcap will contain a hint of rum.
My favorite definitely all stuf relating to Chicken, yeps Chicken Rica-Rica is very yummy and addicted. There is Ayam Rica-Rica in sell in Jakarta but most of them is taste completely different from the one who cooked by Manadonese in Manado city. So go to Manado to try this food is very worthy for me.
2. Makassar, South Sulawesi
Makasar is a city located in the Southern part of Sulawesi island, just like Manadonese food, they’re food is also spicy. However most of them is soupy food. The famous one and become one of national trademark food is Coto Makassar. This soto is probably the most famous soto in the entire world. You should try at least once in your life to this soto. Its delicious, spicy and savory on the tounge.

Other food you can try is Soup Conro which is very spicy and delicious. Soup Conro is cooking beef ribs soup from typical Indonesian Bugis and Makassar tradition. This soup is usually made with veal or beef ribs. Dark brown soupy dish is usually eaten with a small diamond that is cut first.
