Food Review : Nasi Goreng Merah

IMG_20151126_203649Nasi goreng or fried rice is one of Indonesian food. Even tough this food originally came fron China, the Indonesian version is different; more spicy and varied. One of them is Nasi Goreng Merah or translated as Red Fried rice.

Nasi goreng merah is from Makassar, South Sulawesi. This version of Nasi Goreng have specific bright red appearance. No wonder, Nasi Goreng merah get its colour from tomatoes, very much tomatoes and little bit chilli and pepper.

Its very fresh but still maintain its very delicious spicy of Nasi Goreng. The combination of beef, chicken and others meat makes its more fun when it come to mouth. To adding its spiceness, you can add more sauce or “sambal” to your nasi goreng.

You can taste this unique Fried Rice at Makassar’s Restaurant such as Kedai Pelangi in Central Jakarta.

Nasi Goreng Merah is worth to try if you love Asian Food eapecially South East Asian taste.
