My Travel Journal: Santorini, Greece

Santorini is a beautiful island, full of friendly people and delicious foods. It’s a popular destination in the summer months, but it can be equally as enjoyable in winter. With the right company, you’ll never be bored on Santorini!

The Sunrise

  • The sunrise. It’s beautiful, it’s peaceful, and it’s a great time to be alone with your thoughts.
  • You can take photos of the sunrise from any angle. You don’t even have to be awake when the sun rises—just wake up early, grab your camera and tripod (or not), head out onto the beach and wait for morning light to hit those dramatic volcanic cliffs that surround Santorini like a fortress wall.
  • Exercise! Get some fresh air! Enjoying nature is good for you!

The Sunset

The sunset in Santorini is the best I’ve seen so far.

I’ve been travelling for a few years now, and every time I see a sunset it’s different from the last one. This is because as you get further north or south, the sun rises and sets at different times of day during each month of the year, so there are always new sunrises and sunsets to experience. In fact, if you travelled around the world for ten years then all your sunrise experiences would be completely different in that time.

Santorini’s unique position means that it has some of the best sunsets in all these locations combined, which means that when you’re there all your daily experiences could be considered world-class!

Beaches

Santorini is a bold and beautiful island, but it’s not all about the scenery. I’ve never been to the southern beaches of Santorini before, so I was excited to finally get a chance to visit them! The beaches are rocky but still great for swimming, snorkeling and surfing. You can also just relax on the sand and soak in the sun.

The Gramvousa Beach is famous for its black-sand beach that attracts visitors from around the world. The beach itself is only about 30 meters wide, so it’s small but not crowded at all times — if you’re looking for peace and quiet this would be an ideal place! There are also many other smaller beaches located nearby such as Akrotiri Beach where you can find shade under some trees while enjoying warm waters during summer days (note: large waves may make it difficult).

Hiking through the hills

As you walk through the hills, you get to see some of the most beautiful views. You can also see other villages and towns and what they look like in their natural state. There are some steep parts where it is challenging to climb up but this makes it more fun.

The people and the animals

I was amazed by how friendly and helpful the people on the island are. When I was lost, lost tourists ask me where I am going and if they can help me out. This made my trip very smooth and enjoyable because of their kindness.

I would definitely recommend visiting Santorini for this reason!

Food

Greek food is delicious, healthy, affordable and easy to eat. I knew that Greek food was good but I didn’t realize how much there was to explore. They have a lot of different dishes and they are easy to cook. It’s also very easy to find because most restaurants serve Greek food. If you come here with your family or friends, you should try some Greek dishes because they are very tasty!

Conclusion

Santorini is a beautiful place with friendly people and delicious foods

  • Santorini is a beautiful place with friendly people and delicious foods.
  • The beaches are amazing, and the water is so clear you can see right to the bottom.
  • The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking!
  • You will have a wonderful time here!

I hope my experiences help you plan your own trip to Santorini! The island is beautiful and full of friendly people. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or an action packed vacation, there is something for everyone here. I loved exploring the hills and beaches with my friends and family, but also enjoyed meeting new people from all over the world at the local tavernas.

If you are looking for some adventure then hiking through the hills is a great way to spend an afternoon while watching locals go about their daily lives before dinner time rolls around again! You’ll never be bored in Santorini because there’s always something new around every corner.”
