7 Reasons Why Bratislava Is Not Worth Visiting.

So after I went through the second day in Bratislava, and found that Bratislava was not worth visiting, I also found many other important things to write about. Uniquely, so many things that I don’t like about this city, I found almost 10 things that I think you should consider if you want to travel to this country:

Welcome to Bratislava, The Capital of Dracula Slovakia

1. This city is Veryyyyy Boring!

Bratislava is very boring. That’s the first, that this city is very small, in contrast to its neighbor, Vienna, this city is like nothing. In fact I think this city is a suburb of Vienna. There is almost nothing that can be done here. The main attraction of this city may be the old castles of ancient relics that look old but actually the results of renovation or modern-made not ancient relics. An example is Brastilava Castle, which is the main attraction in this city. This castle actually did not belong to Slovakia as a nation but was built by the Kingdom of Hungary in the 10th century under the authority of King Istvan I. Absolute, only this castle and some of the castles are apparently almost the same or have been destroyed and only in the form of ruins that you can enjoy. It only takes 3 hours to visit all of them because their locations are close to each other. So I conclude this city is very boring.

Bratislava Castle – The icon of the city and the only thing they had.
The Gate of Michael – Just like another ordinary non special building
Old abandoned building everywhere
The street is so dark

2. Expensive For an Eeastern European City

Can you believe that you have to pay at least 2.5 Euro for a bottle of water in this city, I mean that price even more expensive than the one in Oslo, Norway (one of the most expensive city in Europe). No way! Yup the last time I ate in an restaurant in Bratislava you have to pay at least 17 euro per meal. The only affordable meal that you can get is an Asian food; noodle, fired rice and chinese food in general. However only in certain area not in the city centre for sure. Gosh, these people really kill tourist so much. I remember at one time, I checked the price of t-shirt of “I love bratislava” or the same of kind, the price for this simple t-shirt is 15 euro????? like are they are kidding? I bought the same t-shirt in Stockholm only less than 10 euro. Bratislava is an Eastern European city, and compare them to Budapest, Ljubijana, Zagreb, Dubrovnik or Athens are completely like sky and earth, very different. So don’t waste your money for these overated products. Not worth at all!

3. The Public Transportation is Suck Here

Yup, the tram is very slow and noisy. Many passengger dont even get bother to pay the ticket to ride the public transporation in here, they just got there and sit like nothing happen. That is the reason why, the tram is old and not well maintained. Don’t bother to use any public transportation in Bratislava, just walk because this city is reachable by walk due to its size.

4. The People is Unfriendly and Cold

Yup, the Slovakian kind a stuck in their 19th century mentality, they being isolated so many years from outside world. That is why when they were saw many Asian tourist they became suspicious. Don’t expect them to smile at you even you smile at them first. They dont even smile or greet each other. Very confusing community.

5. The City Full of Gravity and Not Well Maintained

Yup, gravity everywhere even in the city centre and its all over the public building. The park and the city’s fountain are abandoned . Its seem like they dont care about the beauty of their city or they dont even notice how ugly their environtment are?. I dont’ know.

6. Its Kind a Unsafe City

Bratislava known for their spooky tourism. Old buildings that are poorly maintained support this targeted tourism business. But don’t get me wrong that the “spooky” condition of the city must also be watched out for. Based on my experience walking around the night in the city of Bratislava, I can conclude that this city is classified as unsafe, especially for a female tourist. At night, many drunk people roam around, screaming and often approaching the people in their path. Not to mention the beggars who use various kinds of actions such as crying, fainting and so on to get the sympathy and compassion of the tourists. It’s really sad that there are still people like that in a European country.

or boring?

7. Not Many Direct Flight To Bratislava

How can their government can increase their tourism industry if there is not enough flight to Bratislava? very weird. When I came to Bratislava from Amsterdam, I went to Vienna, Austria first. The main reason I took this route because its cheap and there is no “affordable” or available flight to Bratislava. Can you imagine if they organize some big events such as Eurovision or Euro Cup?? they are probably getting crazy. Its unbelieveable! They should thank to Vienna for bringing so much tourist to their country due the short distance between two capitals.

Thank You Bratt! and Merry Christmass.

Those are the reasons that I can convey why Bratislava is not worth visiting for those of you who like to travel. But this is only a personal experience, everyone certainly has a different experience. It could be that some tourists find happiness and pleasure in Bratislava, maybe. But I only convey the facts on the ground, where I go directly to the field.

That is all and thank you.
